What you can do here

Fifteen modules, each carrying one session. The stated time is the working time — listening, reading and tasks together, not the length of the recording. You can start at the beginning or step in anywhere; the modules do not build on one another.

Each module states its origin at the end: who wrote it, what year it comes from, under which rights it stands. Modules marked “draft” are complete in substance but have not yet been approved by an editor.

There is a box beside every task. Whatever you tick, the browser remembers at once — no sign-up, no account.

As long as you do not request a code, no tick leaves your device. Nothing is held on a server that could be traced back to you.

Select a passage in the running text with the mouse or your finger — a small bar appears offering “Keep”. For every passage you mark you can write a sentence about why it matters to you.

This also applies to the source texts that unfold under the materials: Tillich's essays and lecture slides are there as running text, not only as PDFs to download. In the recordings you set marks with the button in the player; they appear as small triangles beneath the progress bar and can be clicked.

If you want to continue on another device, request a code: four characters after “TIL-”. Note that code down, and your progress is there again on any device.

The code is the only connection between you and what is stored. We do not know who you are — no name, no email address, no IP address. If the code is lost, the progress cannot be recovered; we cannot recover it either. A code is deleted after twelve months without use.

Conversations with contemporary witnesses, lectures and contributions from research. Recordings in several parts are divided into sections that can be listened to individually and cited by their own address.

The player takes keyboard commands: the space bar pauses and resumes, the arrow keys jump fifteen seconds back and forward. Chapter marks on the progress bar can be clicked wherever times have been recorded.
